Watercolor Trio

I finally broke down and got this stamp set. I liked it when I first saw it and it was on my list. There are so many great Stamp sets in the 2010 Summer Mini Catalog that I had to pace myself. Yesterday I got my shipment and whipped out this card. I think it is so elegant. I will be using this card for my Great-Aunt Elizabeth's birthday card. She will be 94 in July and I think she will love this card. I cased the concept from a card on Splitcoast Stampers. I am not sure of her name, but if it was you, Thanks so much for sharing!

Supply List:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive
Ribbon: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain (this is retiring so order TODAY!!)
Stamp Set: Watercolor Trio (2010 Summer Mini)
Accessories: Big Shot (you need one of these!), Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Scallop Oval punch and oval punch, stampin' dimensionals

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my card! The colors are gorgeous together and really pop. I am off to make it in Melon Mambo now.

Happy Stampin'

Blissful Bride

I created this card using the new Blissful Bride (#120036) set in the Summer Mini Catalog. My sister is getting married in September and this will be her Bridal Shower invitation. I also entered this as a swap for our Team Meeting on Saturday and won a $25 Stampin' Up! gift certificate from Janet Wakeland! I was so excited and surprised! I have been truly blessed by this and I give God all the praise for blessing me with this gift.

Supplies:
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Orchid Opulence
Ink: Black Staz-On, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Big Shot (you need one of these!), Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Oval Scallop Frame, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Silver Brad, and Two step bird punch (just the leaves), Dazzling Diamonds

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoy this card. Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Happy Stampin',

Long Time no post!

I know, I know. I have been gone from blogging world for a long time. I am so sorry. I have been sick and now I am better. I have a TON of things to share so I am going to dig right in and show you....

Tonight is the premier of Twilight Saga: Eclipse! I am so excited about this movie. Eclipse is my favorite book out of the whole group. I love each book individually but if I had to pick a favorite, Eclipse would be the one.

I was struggling with what to make everyone and was checking my email and saw this post.  I knew my searching was over. Cute and simple. They are sooooo easy to make and I added my own touch for my friends. I am going to put in some candy and a bookmark for them. I know it will put a smile on their faces and I love that. That is the reason that I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. To share what I love!

For my version of the boxes I used Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White card stock. I am sticking with the theme of the book covers. I added Dazzling Diamonds to Edward's name. It sparkles like he does.

I would love to know what you think! Bloggers LOVE comments.

I am off to make some more posts so stay tuned!

Happy Stampin,
Melissa

Using Retired Colors

I am lucky that I do not have a ton of left over retiring Card Stock. I am also glad that Stampin' Up! told us what colors would be retiring before June 1st. June 1st is a magic date for Stampin' Up! June 1st is when the Last Chance list is posted telling us what is going and what is staying. This year it will be BIG. With the new Color Renovation that is happening ALOT of stamping supplies will be gone, gone, gone!

Most of the current Bold Brights are retiring and that was a color palette that I picked when I became a demonstrator a little over a year ago. For this project I wanted something bright and fun. I chose Green Galore and Pixie Pink. I am not sad about Pixie Pink because I love Melon Mambo, but Green Galore I like. I am excited about Wild Wasabi coming back so that will replace Green Galore on my shelf.

I made some book marks for some friends that I swap books with at PaperbackSwap.com . If you have never tried swapping books you should check it out. I have traded some books, cleaned off a shelf (or two) and received some great books. All for just postage which is usually just $2.40. Not too bad. I LOVE to read. Reading and Stamping are my passions and my escapes. Okay...I am rambling way too much today! Sorry!

I used the petal card die to make the actual bookmark. These are super easy to make and a great way to use up scraps or retired colors! You use a 4x4 piece of card stock and cut only 3 petals out of the shape. Fold them on the score lines and add a little sticky strip or a glue dot. I used a sentiment from the Whimsical Words set from Sale-A-Bration (a favorite of mine) and stamped that in Pixie Pink. I used up my scraps to cut the scallop circle and both circle punches. They were really cute and super easy to make. My book buddies were thrilled to get them and that made my day!

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

If anyone is interested in a tutorial for this, please let me know. June 1st is going to be crazy at my house, but I will try and post a tutorial this week.

Have a great day!

Happy Memorial Day!

I just wanted to take some time today to say "Thank You!" to all the soldiers and soldiers' families today. It is a great sacrifice that they make and we have FREEDOM because of it.

My cousin is serving overseas right now. I think of him often and how proud I am of him. Thank you Tim for all that you do.

Have a Truly Blessed Day!

Take some time and Thank a soldier for your FREEDOM!!
